The Miss’ Balcony

This Balcony welcomed the contestants running for the title of Miss France in 1938 for a meal during a trip to Tunisia. Nabeul was back then a major destination thanks to its gardens, ceramic workshops and dolce vita.

The staple event was held in “Dar El Gaïed”, while the owner-patriarch was Caid in Sfax. Notables and intellectuals of the region attended the event, including the poet and historian Hassen Hosni Abdelwaheb, former Caid of Nabeul and Doctor Mohamed Tlatli, Doctor and author of the first Muslim thesis in medicine in the Cap Bon region.
